Keep your Inner Child

We all have an inner child, but few of us are able to acknowledge our inner child and how it has served to define the people we have become.

Do you ever wonder why you so quickly stifle any emotions or feelings that may lead directly to your inner self? The answers vary from person to person, but understanding the signs is a big step toward understanding ourselves and why we avoid showing the world who we are inside.

Matthew 18:2-4

2 He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3 Then he said to them, “I can guarantee this truth: Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever becomes like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

A lot of people believe when we start to mature we start losing the ability to express our inner child, but that’s only because we think that just because we get older and more mature we have to let go of our inner child.

To me our inner child is a tool in our lives it keeps us grounded it helps us not get caught up in the messed up world we live in, it helps us to stay pure of heart and frankly it makes us more interesting.

For those who serve God and are reading this, who says that you have to be boring to serve God. He doesn’t want us to push people away with our wisdom and knowledge, there are people who need the smart talk and people who really just need someone they can talk to and know they are listening without judging, they want the kind and gentle heart.

That is why God gives us our inner child when we mature. So that we can still reach the people who are innocent and kind, so that we don’t scare them away.

Don’t be afraid to play…
